The first Tuesday in November is election day. But the SECOND Tuesday (November 10th) marks the beginning of the new knitting class I am teaching, with a focus on fingerless mittens, mittens and arm warmers. It meets every other Tuesday from 6:30 to 8PM at Stitch Therapy's lovely new location, 335 5th Avenue in Brooklyn, NY. Drop by once, or feel free to become a regular attendee. The class itself is free, but you will need to buy your supplies at the store. (And this is hardly a drawback as there are so very many gorgeous yarns to choose from...) If you are interested, please call to reserve a spot. I am including photos of some of the projects we will be working on - Maxcine and I tried to choose a project to match every skill level (or need of hasty/leisurely holiday knitting). Here is a sneak peek at the samples.
I hope to see you there!
Loving these mitts.

Hello Kris,
I have a question about one of your knitting projects. I'm knitting the super long wrap from your "Knitting To Go" cards. I'm a beginner knitter so I thought this would be a nice gift for my sister-in-law. As I knit on straight needles the whole wrap starts to shift diagonally, of course I thought it was me and ripped it out and started again but the second time around resulted in the same effect..Is this an issue of blocking in the end? Is it better on circular needles? I have brought it my local knit shop and they are also perplexed. Any suggestions are totally appriciated. Thanks Wendy Taylor

Hi Wendy,
I don't have the pattern nearby, but I am 99% sure that the way it is written that it is knit with a bias. A bias naturally skews the fabric by increasing on one side and decreasing on the other, so you will end up with a parallelogram rather than a rectangle.
I hope this helps! Happy knitting!

Hi Kris,
Well that makes sense! Thank you so so much for taking the time getting back to me so quickly, I truly appreciate it. I will happily start the wrap again. Regards......Wendy
